Director, Inspection Division, Office of the Inspector General of the Marine Corps
Col Ken Lademan

Colonel Lademan is currently the Director of Inspections for the Inspector General of the Marine Corps. Most recently, he attended the Royal College of Defence Studies in London, obtaining a concurrent Master of Arts in International Security and Strategy at King’s College London. Previously, he served as the Deputy Director of Reserve Affairs at Headquarters Marine Corps where he was responsible for plans, policy, programming, and personnel. Prior to that, he was a Military Faculty Advisor at Marine Corps Command & Staff College from 2019-2020.

 

His most recent command tour was as the Inspector-Instructor, 5th Battalion, 14th Marines from June 2016 to 2018. His assignments in the operating forces include Forward Observer, Fire Direction Officer and Battery Executive Officer, 1st Battalion, 12th Marines; Battery Commander, 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines; Division Staff Secretary, 2nd Marine Division; Assistant Operations Officer, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit; and Regimental Fire Support Officer and Battalion Executive Officer, 1st Battalion, 12th Marines. He has deployed six times, to include OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE.

 

Colonel Lademan’s other assignments include Officer Selection Officer, Eastern New England; Commander, Task Unit 151.4 for counter-piracy operations in the Horn of Africa region; and Commanding Officer, Recruiting Station, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. His joint assignments include J4/5 Coalition Support for U.S. Forces - Afghanistan; Deputy J3, CENTCOM Forward - Jordan; and Division Chief, Strategic Analysis and Policy for U.S. Special Operations Command, Pacific.

 

Colonel Lademan is a graduate of the Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School, U.S. Army Field Artillery Captain's Career Course, Marine Corps Command and Staff College and Joint Forces Staff College. From 2018-2019, he was a National Security Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

 

His personal decorations include the Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal (2), the Meritorious Service Medal (3), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4, one with Combat V), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
